Privacy Policy

TuneFriend is a music client that connects to a server you choose (for example a friend’s Navidrome or other Subsonic-compatible server). We do not operate a central user account system for the mobile app.

What data the app handles

• Server connection details you enter (server URL, username, password) so the app can log in to your music server.
• Library and playback data returned by that server (artists, albums, songs, playlists, favorites) to show and play music.
• Local preferences on your device (settings, last played position, likes/dislikes stored on-device).

Where data is stored

• Credentials and settings are stored on your device (Android encrypted preferences where used).
• Music streams and library data come from the server URL you configure, not from TuneFriend’s servers.
• If you use the optional website at tunefriend.org, the site may proxy requests you initiate to the server you specify so HTTPS pages can reach HTTP music servers. That proxy only forwards what you ask it to; it is not used to build a marketing profile.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not require a TuneFriend account to use the Android app.
• We do not upload your music library to us for advertising.

Permissions (Android)

• Internet — connect to your music server.
• Notifications / foreground service — show playback controls and keep audio playing in the background.
• Wake lock / battery-related prompts — help long playback sessions keep running (you can deny battery unrestricted mode).

Children

TuneFriend is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app to provide personal information of children to third-party servers you do not control.

Third parties

Your music server operator (your friend or host) can see logins and listening activity on that server according to their own policies. Google Play may collect standard install and crash data under Google’s policies when you install from Play.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
