1. About This App

KC3ICT Ham Study ("the app") is a free, non-commercial educational tool operated by amateur radio operator KC3ICT from Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. The app provides interactive flashcard-based study tools for the FCC Amateur Radio Service licensing examinations (Technician, General, and Amateur Extra classes).

2. Question Pool Content

All exam questions, correct answers, and reference information are sourced from the official FCC Amateur Radio question pools published and maintained by the National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators (NCVEC) Question Pool Committee. The NCVEC QPC releases all question pools into the public domain. This app does not claim any copyright ownership over the question content. Diagram images are reproduced from the official pool documents.

3. No Warranty

The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy with the current question pools, always verify your study materials against the official NCVEC releases at ncvec.org. This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the ARRL, NCVEC, or FCC.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

This app uses your device's localStorage (a cookie-equivalent technology) solely to save your study progress, flagged questions, and display preferences (dark/light mode). Specifically:

No personal data is collected. No data is transmitted to any server. No third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising is used. All data lives only on your device and is never shared with anyone, including the app author.

You can clear this data at any time using the "Clear Progress" button on any pool page, or by clearing the app's data in Android settings.

5. Export / Import

The export feature downloads a JSON file of your locally-stored progress to your own device. The import feature reads a JSON file you provide to restore previously exported progress. You are responsible for the security of any exported file.

6. Acceptable Use

This app is for personal, educational use. The app's original source code is licensed under the MIT License. Amateur radio question pools are public domain as released by the NCVEC Question Pool Committee. Bundled fonts remain under their respective SIL Open Font License terms. The KC3ICT Ham Study name, logo, and branding are not licensed except as required to redistribute unmodified copies of the app. The question pools themselves are public domain and may be freely used per NCVEC's terms.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated to reflect app changes. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
